Chromebooks, LockDown Browser & Website Whitelisting for ISDs

Respondus LockDown Browser for Chromebooks and Windows Devices

As an ISD Testing Center Manager/Admin, depending on which device your ISD uses, you may need one or both of the following:

  • For Managed Windows devices: The ZIP file, which contains the MSI installer.
  • For Managed Chromebooks: The Google Chrome Extension ID to update the app/extension being pushed out to your ISDs Chromebooks. An Admin guide to setup Respondus LDB with instructions will also be provided upon request.

  • For either of these needs, please email VTAC.

NOTE: If you have questions regarding which version of LockDown Browser (LDB) you need for Chromebooks in your testing centers, please email your inquiries to VTAC@lonestar.edu.

Website Whitelisting

For ISDs using centrally managed devices or network firewalls, you may need to whitelist certain websites to ensure students can access videos on their school-owned devices.
