Instructor feedback for a quiz is published when the grades are. However, for the feedback to be visible, you must set up a submission view. You can display feedback immediately after they submit their quizzes by updating the Default View, or you can set up a submission view that becomes available to the student after a specific amount of time (for example, after the end date for the quiz).
To Set Up a Submission View
- Go to Course Activities > Quizzes.
- From the Manage Quizzes page, click the quiz name.
- Select the Submission Views tab.
- If you'd like the students to see feedback immediately, click the Default View link. If you want them to see the feedback at a later date, click the Add Additional View button.
- If you are creating an additional view:
- Give the submission view a name.
- Enter a date under "View Restrictions" for the submission view to become available.
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen.
- In the Show Questions? area, select the Yes radio button.
- Confirm the Show all questions with user responses radio button is selected.
- Select the Show question answers check box.
- Click the Save button.
NOTE: The quiz grades must be published, even if the quiz is not associated with a grade item, for the submission view to be available.
For Students to View Feedback
- Go to Course Activities > Quizzes.
- Click the arrow next to the quiz name, and select Submissions.
- Click the Attempt to see feedback.
