Using the Brightspace Grader App for Android

The Grader app for Android allows you to use your Android tablet to grade Brightspace dropbox assignments.

  1. On the login screen, enter the webpage for your Brightspace courses (https://d2l.lonestar.edu) and click "Log into D2L® courses."

  2. A window will open with the Lone Star login page. Click on "Secure Login."

  3. Enter your Lone Star username and password to log in.

  4. When you log in, you will see a number of tiles that represent your courses. Click on the tile for the course in which you would like to grade submissions.Shows the course tiles.
    • Identifies the Settings icon.If you want to hide courses that don’t have any dropboxes in them, click on the Settings icon in the top right corner.
        
    • In the Display section of the Settings, check the box next to “Hide Courses with No Assignments.”Identifies the Hide courses checkbox.
  5. When you choose a course, you will see how many students have ungraded papers, and how many total submissions have been made.

  6. You can sort your assignment dropboxes by Due Date, Not Graded, or Name by clicking on the list icon in the top right corner.

  7. Click on a class to see all the students in it The right hand column indicates whether a submission has been graded or not.

  8. You can sort your students by Not Graded, Name, Date, or Grade by clicking the list icon in the top right corner.

  9. Click on a student to mark that student’s paper. You can mark up the paper from this screen.

    1. ​If you long press the screen in an area of the paper that has NO text, you will get the options for creating a note, drawing on the paper, or choosing an eraser.

    2. If you long press the screen in an area of the paper that has text, you will get the options to copy, highlight, strikeout, or underline text in the paper. (These options will not appear until the long press is released.)​Shows the long press options to copy, highlight, strikeout, or underline text in the paper.
  10. To give the paper a grade, click the Evaluate link in the top right area of the screen.

  11. Identifies feedback options.
    The panel that slides out has grading and feedback options on it.
    1. Enter the score next to the TOTAL label.
    2. Enter your feedback in the feedback box. You can use the microphone or the video camera to add audio or video feedback.
    3. If you have previously added an attachment to the submission, you can delete by clicking the X next to the file.
  12. You can publish an individual’s score by clicking Publish at the top of the screen for that individual.

  13. ​If you want to publish all scores at the same time, you can click Publish All for a class of students.
